Landscape & Nature
Have been rushed off my feet lately and haven't had the time to post anything. Thought i'd share a few more of my landscape/nature shots. The first two shots were taken with my iPhone - nifty wee built-in camera to be fair! Others taken with Nikon D300. Thanks for stopping by! :)

Ear Candy
Absolutely addictive. Have had the new Florence album on repeat all day, and i'm not one bit sorry...
Hong Kong, October 2007
Wide awake at 2am, looking through holiday snaps and wishing i was elsewhere! It took me months to convince my boyfriend to go to Hong Kong, (i think it was the language barrier he feared...that and the 14 hour flight!), but once we were out there he really enjoyed himself and fell in love with the place, just as i have.
I lived there as a child, unsurprisingly Hong Kong has completely changed since then. Very modernised, with some of the most incredible buildings i've ever seen. If you've never been - you're missing out and should put it on your 'to do' list. A great photo opportunity, so much to see and do, you'll never be bored, and the people are beautiful which is always a bonus!

Saw these guys in London a couple of years ago. One gig i'll always remember, and i hope to see them again when they're next in the UK. A favourite band of mine, enjoy!

Jacob Mark Stewart
On August 1st 2011, my cousin Krysten had her second baby, my Godson, Jacob Mark Stewart. Check out all that gorgeous dark hair he was born with! (Completely different to his big brother Joshua who has a thick head of blonde hair, but they're both as handsome as each other).
Here's a few snaps i took of him when he wasn't long home from hospital. He's a fair bit bigger now...time flies, huh?

'Footprints In The Sand'
This is a captured moment i hold dear to my heart.
My uncle Andy, celebrating his 70th birthday party in hospital.
(I hope it doesn't disturb anyone, as i'm well aware of the weight he lost over the months and how apparent it is in this photo).
I loved who he was when he was healthy and even more so when he was sick, so to me, he never really changed, regardless of the weight loss. Never in my life have i had the privilege of meeting someone so incredibly selfless. A true old fashioned gentle man.
6 months on and my heart still breaks knowing he's gone and will never be coming back. I don't know how many times i've mentioned him, but it's hard to forget him. When you lose someone so special, you spend your time thinking over how you wish you would have done things differently. Made more of an effort, given more of your time. And although you should live your life with no regrets, it's hard sometimes not to regret the fact that i wasn't there when he passed away.
He lived alone and spent most of his time alone, each birthday, each christmas, and worst of all the majority of his time in hospital he spent alone, watching the clock on the wall and knowing his time was coming to an end. He wasn't ready to go, i remember him saying to me "i wish i could have all my time back, live it all over again". He was one of those people who loved life, every single moment of it.
He never forgot anyones birthday, and you could always expect a phone call on christmas day from him, wishing us all a Merry Christmas. He adored his family, and we adored him too, but unfortunately didn't show him as often as we could have.
I remember visiting him with my parents, and my mum sat beside him on the hospital bed. He rested his head on her shoulder and cuddled into her, so glad of a little human contact. It just shows how lonely he was, and how glad he was of that momentary company.
In and out of hospital several times, with barely a complaint, and never any self pity. He battled his cancer so courageously until sadly he lost his battle with cancer in July 2011.
To many of you these photos will be just 'an old man in a hospital bed'. But as the saying goes...a photo is worth 1000 words.
Love your life. Love your family. After all, Love is what binds us all together.
Landscape & Nature
Generally, i love portrait photography and seem to focus my attention on that genre.
Just to switch things up a bit...here's a bunch of landscape/nature snaps i have taken in the last 3 years. A few were taken with a basic Samsung digital camera. Others were taken with the Nikon digital SLR. I'm not much good at this kind of photography, but undeniably nature is beautiful either way!
My Girl :)
Bringing my photography forward 10 years...
A trip to Carrickfergus with my boyfriend Darren, and our wee girl Lily. Being the amazing mother that i am, i forgot to pack a coat for my child...so she spent the day waddling around Carrick in an over-sized panda jumper. 10 points to me, right?
I managed to get a great shot of Lily by telling her to "look at the caterpillar on the camera lens" - slowly but surely this trick is wearing thin.
(Nikon D300, Digital SLR).
